Electric outboard motor specialist Pure Watercraft recently announced the launch of a series of complete electric boat packages, in addition to just outboards, encompassing a pontoon boat, a bass fishing boat, and a rigid inflatable boat. The Branching out into boat construction was, according to company founder Andrew Rebele, a move designed to ease the adoption of electric watercraft. “These offerings make it easy for someone to choose a complete system, with the confidence of knowing that everything fits together well, and serves the purpose they intend,” he says.

First hydrogen-powered yacht premieres in Monaco
What is being touted as the world’s first hydrogen-powered yacht designed by Hynova Boat premiered last week in Monaco during the Planetary Health Week Capital Yachting Experience. The French company launched ‘New Era’ from the La Ciotat Dockyard near Marseille on 18 September for the 124Nm maiden voyage for the show’s 21 September opening.

Yanmar Opens Middle East Branch in Dubai
Japanese engine manufacturer Yanmar said it will soon open a new parts warehouse at its Middle East Branch, located in the United Arab Emirates, near Dubai Airport. The Middle East Branch began operation in January of 2019 in the Dubai Airport Free Zone providing sales, service support and training to dealers in Yanmar’s middle east territory. The new site, which serves both Yanmar’s marine pleasure and marine commercial engines business in the Middle East region, is operated by Yanmar subsidiary and Asia regional headquarters, Yanmar Asia (Singapore) Co., Ltd.

Electric boat motor manufacturer ePropulsion and methanol fuel cell company EFOY announced at Germany’s Interboot boat show that they are cooperating on a system where the fuel cell can be used to extend the range of the motor. EFOY is the brand name of consumer fuel cell products from SFC Energy, which also makes fuel cells for defense and industrial customers as well as things like special coils and transformers for electron microscopes. ePropulsion is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electric outboards and pod motors. The announced electric motor / fuel cell initiative is specifically for use with their Spirit 1.0 PLUS outboard.
