Hulas launches the M47 with twin diesel outboards

The brand new M47 from Hylas Yachts is one of the first boats of its kind to feature diesel powered outboards. Equipped with twin Cox CXO300 diesel outboards, the M47 tops out at 31 knots and cruises at 17. With the standard 4-blade props, the M47 has a range of 1,000 miles, although with a larger fuel tank this can increase up to 1,500 miles.

Southampton Port’s New Patrol RIB sports Cox CXO300 Drives

Designed to be both fast and agile, the patrol craft Swift has already entered service in Southampton, one of the UK’s busiest ports. Built by Berthon, Cox’s UK distributor based in Lymington, the 7.8m Commercial Grade RIB will be used by the ABP Southampton team to enforce harbor by-laws and to carry out other harbour duties by its safety security patrols. The CXO300 diesel outboard enables the RIB to achieve speeds of nearly 40 knots, while the boat gives them much improved fast response and shallow water capability.

Cox Marine to Highlight Development of Next-Gen Hydrogen Solutions

CXO300 manufacturer is also showcasing its ground-breaking diesel outboard with UK distributor Berthon on Berths VA30/31/32, with demos available on a Cox-powered RIB. Demonstrating its commitment to meeting the challenges of reducing worldwide CO2 emissions, Cox Marine will provide insight into the development of useable hydrogen-based marine propulsion systems at this year’s Seawork International.

Cox Marine Bolsters Leadership Team

Cox Marine yesterday announced that it added four new members to its leadership team ahead of what it described as “an escalation in production of its 300-hp diesel outboard engine.”  David Gilbert joins the company as chief commercial officer. His previous roles include 10 years at McLaren Automotive, as well as tenures at Element Six, Volkswagen, PA Consulting and Accenture. He will also join the Cox executive committee.
